Plate Theory

Plate Theory is an editorial Astro theme for food writers, recipe journals, and home cooks who want a calm, magazine-like site. A long-form kitchen notebook homepage pairs with a dated journal of notes, warm photography, and room for your own voice.

Plate Theory is built for people who treat cooking as a story, not a feed. The layout feels like a well-kept kitchen notebook: generous serif headlines, soft tinted sections, and photographs that sit slightly apart from the page, as if laid on a table.

The homepage walks visitors through your world in one scroll—why you cook, what you keep on the counter, plates from the table, quiet numbers that describe your pace, questions guests might ask, and a short list of recent notes. A contact area invites a real message, as if someone were writing you at the kitchen table.

Beyond the front page, a journal index and individual note pages give each piece its own cover image, date, and breathing room. Legal and thank-you pages are included so you can launch with confidence. Light and dark appearances are both considered, so evening reading still feels intentional.

Demo names, recipes, and addresses are fictional placeholders. Replace them with your kitchen, your seasons, and your writing. Plate Theory is for bloggers, newsletter writers, and small culinary brands who want sophistication without noise—and a site that looks designed, not assembled.
